Building European Resilience
We are excited to present a diverse and engaging program for our proposed conference, featuring insights from leading organizations and experts in the field. Below is a summary of the proposed breakout sessions, diving into the hydrogen ecosystem from production and storage to distribution and demand generation. During the breakout sessions, attendees also have the opportunity to network freely in the café.
During the symposium, participants will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions. For each round, you may select one session to join.
To help you make your choice, you will find the session titles and descriptions listed below. We encourage you to review these carefully and select the sessions that best match your interests and goals.
Please note that capacity is limited for each session. While we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s preferences, we cannot guarantee placement in a specific session if it becomes full.
Therefore, we recommend signing up as early as possible to secure your spot.
The Liquid Hydrogen Supply Chain
Speaker: Ellen Ruhotas
Ellen will provide an insight into the liquid hydrogen supply chain, highlighting recent developments, the outlook for the coming years and its growing role as a pillar of Europe’s energy security.
LOHC Bridge – a blueprint for resilient green hydrogen import corridors from North Africa to Europe
Speaker: Stefan Stollenwerk
LOHC Bridge presents a joint feasibility project under GIZ’s H2Uppp programme, in partnership with IRESEN and the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The session explores the role of LOHC-BT in enabling resilient green hydrogen imports from Morocco and Egypt to Europe. It shares key findings and delivers an evidence-based blueprint for scalable LOHC import corridors in a fast-changing energy landscape.
Hydrogen in Practice – Holthausen Energy Points
Speakers: Carl Holthausen and Aldwin Oechies
Not only pioneering, but producing: Holthausen Energy Points produces green RFNBO hydrogen for customers filling trucks and industrial applications, and is supplying hydrogen to the H2 network from 2028. This session illustrates how practical deployment accelerates familiarity with hydrogen as part of the shift away from fossil fuels.
Powering Progress Together – Collaborative LOHC Import and Hydrogen Distribution in Amsterdam
Speakers: Santosh Raikar (Silverpeak-North Atlantic), Jorden van Foreest (EVOS),Frens Geuzinge (Eneco Energy Trading)
Silverpeak, Evos and North Atlantic will discuss their collaborative plans for importing LOHC and distributing hydrogen in the Port of Amsterdam. The session showcases the joint efforts of these organisations in advancing the initiative and underlines how partnerships are essential for driving innovation and accelerating the transition to sustainable energy. The discussion will also address progress towards a Final Investment Decision.
Oman’s role in the global hydrogen economy
Speaker: Rumaitha Al Busaidi
In this session, Rumaitha will outline Oman’s ambitions in the global hydrogen economy and the role Hydrom plays in making these ambitions a reality.
Hydrogen Storage and Transport – Circular and Scalable Hydrogen Carrier Systems
Speakers: Chris Slootweg, Koos-Jan van Brouwershaven and Wiard Leenders
Large-scale deployment of hydrogen requires not only sustainable production, but also safe, efficient and economically viable solutions for storage and transport. This session explores emerging hydrogen carrier technologies that enable long-distance transport, large-scale storage and integration into existing industrial and logistics infrastructure. The focus is on chemical carrier systems including LOHCs and solid-state storage concepts, with industrial perspectives from Voyex and H2Fuel.
NLHydrogen – Hydrogen connects today to tomorrow
Speaker: Lieuwe Brouwer
In this session, NLHydrogen will host a talk about the hydrogen trade agenda presented by Dutch hydrogen terminals, port authorities and industry associations to minister Van Veldhoven last month, and discuss policy recommendations for demand creation and financial support for import infrastructure.
H2avennet – The consortium approach for connecting demand, supply and infrastructure
Panel: Moderator: Femke Swan (Programmabureau NZKG), René Ammerlaan (Firan Hydrogen), James Hallworth (Port of Amsterdam), Robert Koornneef (Eneco Energy Trading) & Xaan de Kock (Bio Energy Netherlands).
Port of Amsterdam and Firan are developing a H2 distribution network (H2avennet) that will connect suppliers and industrial users. This panel session shares learnings from the H2avennet consortium on helping infrastructure and the market for H2 grow together.
Hydrogen in Practice – Holthausen Energy Points
Speakers: Carl Holthausen and Aldwin Oechies
Not only pioneering, but producing: Holthausen Energy Points produces green RFNBO hydrogen for customers filling trucks and industrial applications, and is supplying hydrogen to the H2 network from 2028.
